The 2021 Moth World Championship is underway! It’s set to be an exciting week of racing with the world’s best sailors vying for the ultimate title.
Zhik are excited to be back as the Exclusive Apparel Partner to the International Moth Class Association (IMCA) with this three-year agreement revitalising a long-standing connection which includes being the Exclusive Apparel Partner of the Moth Worlds and European events.
Luca Rizzotti, President of IMCA comments, “Zhik was the first ever title sponsor, so we are excited they are back with the International Moth Class. We feel there is such a close relationship with the World’s top-class sailors, these top class boats that push the limits of innovation and the best performance technical gear.”
Zhik will see many the Zhik Team Athletes make the journey to the Italian sailing mecca of Lake Garda to compete for the ultimate World Championship Title. This includes multiple Moth World Champion Paul Goodison, Olympic Gold Medallist Reggero Tita, multiple Olympic Medallist Will Ryan and Tokyo Olympians Philip Buhl, Jean-Baptiste Bernaz and Diego Botin.
Since those early days, Zhik has gone on to support many top moth sailors in international and Olympic level sailing. The partnership for the 2021 Moth World Championships brings Zhik full circle back to its roots.
Spotting the leaders
Keeping track of the front runners will be easier than ever with the top three sailors wearing distinctive Zhik Vests as they fly around the course each day. The regatta leader will wear a bright yellow leader vest, whilst second place will be identified in red and third place in blue. Each morning they will be reallocated to the top three sailors as positions change.
