The 2021 Zhik 29er European Championship is almost underway and is set to be an exciting week of racing with world-class youth sailors vying for the title of European Champion.
Supporting the next generation of up-and-coming sailors and grass roots sailing is a priority at Zhik. For this reason, Zhik sponsors the International 29er Class being the title sponsorship of the Zhik 29er World and Zhik 29er European Championship, for the sixth year in a row!
Successful athletes who have come through the 29er fleet and have subsequently become Zhik Team sailors include NZL Sailing Team’s 49er FX silver medallists Molly Meech & Alex Maloney, multiple 49er World Champion, Americas Cup winner, Olympic medallist Blair Tuke, and Australian Sailing Team’s multiple Olympic medallist Will Ryan.
Joan Mollerus, President of the International 29er Class explains, “Our partnership with Zhik is so important for the 29er Class and our major championships. It means we can run extremely professional events, offering excellent prizes that recognise achievement for our sailors in all categories, as well as support young and often cash strapped athletes with exclusive offers on top-level performance clothing.”
Racing will be conducted by the Fraglia Vela Riva, Lake Garda from the 23rd-27th October.
