Lucinda began sailing at the age of five and first represented Australia at the Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney in 2007. She became a World Champion two years later as a part of the crew that won the 2009 ISAF Women’s Match Racing World Championship. After spending some time away from the Match Racing circuit Lucinda returned in 2011 and in the middle of that year teamed up with Olivia Price and Nina Curtis. London 2012 was Lucinda’s first Olympic Games appearance.

Lucinda and her team mates sailed exceptionally well at London 2012, winning all 11 round robin races to top the class heading into the finals. They defeated the Netherlands and Finland in the semi-finals, coming up against Spain in the race for gold. In a tight affair the Spanish eventually won gold, 3-2. The Australian trio never gave up in heavy conditions, fighting back twice to push the final all the way to five races.
