Arnaud Boissières’ arrival at Les Sables-d'Olonne generated large audiences that lined the shores and packed the waters with hundreds of boats. After 91 days of racing, the successful completion of the Vendée Globe marks his second consecutive navigation of the round the world single-handed yacht race. Arriving in style, Boissières changed out of his Zhik gear and donned a black tuxedo and an undone bow tie. He captivated the Vendée audiences with a James bond-like scene as he sailed down Les Sables-d'Olonne channel.

The Vendée Globe is a serious test of individual endurance, regarded by many as the ultimate in ocean racing. The 2012-2013 event was hard on gear and equipment, with 9 out of the 20 racers not finishing the event.  Boissières’ skill and expertise shone as he navigated the weary Akena Vérandas around the unforgiving route. Clearly unphased by spending 3 months at sea, he was already considering and planning his 3rd attempt of the Vendée Globe in 2016 before even putting a foot on dry land.
