Close knit racing throughout the event provided a great Hyeres World Cup regatta this year and allowed the sailors to shine. Zhik secured many podium appearances with winning performances by many of its Team Riders.

Alex Maloney and Molly Meech (NZL) had an 18 point lead in the new 49erFX class on the final day, but they didn’t shy away from a solid last race. They posted a steady 5-4-5 to take their second ISAF Sailing World Cup regatta win of the 2012-13 season.

Marit Bouwmeester (NED) returned to winning form back in the Laser Radial after London 2012 with a well-deserved gold medal. Leading the first Medal Race from start to finish, she had the following to say after the race. "I just had to focus on myself and sail a good race. When it is light and tricky it's a bit easier because you can only focus on yourself and I won the first race and made it a bit easy. The other two girls started racing each other in the second race so it was easy for me"

The Mens Laser podium had a full podium of Zhik. Tom Burton (AUS) claimed a hard fought gold medal. The Finn master Robert Scheidt returned to Laser sailing with silver in the bag, showing he still has what it takes. And Tonci Stipanovic (CRO) came in a cool third.

Brazil's Fernanda Oliveira and Ana Barbachan (BRA) used their lead in the Women's 470 to produce another ISAF Sailing World Cup gold medal making it three in a row after wins in Miami and Palma.

Mat Belcher and Will Ryan (AUS) secured them their fourth gold medal together since teaming up. For Belcher his unbeaten Men's 470 run, that began in November 2011, continues on and proves he really is in a class of his own.

Zhik sends out a massive congratulations to all the sailors who came home with a medal!
