A star studded field of Olympic contenders attended the Eastern Hemisphere Star Championships in Croatia this weekend. With just the four races to count and no drops possible, there was absolutely no room for mistakes. With Zhik World champion Mateusz Kusnierewicz (POL), and other world champions from the past including Pepper (NZL), Percy (GBR), Loof (SWE) all in contention for the top spot it required a special performance on the final day.
Percy took Schiedt out on the start, forcing him to do a penalty turn and a port start behind the fleet. Regardless, Schiedt fought hard on the right hand side and managed to place high enough in the fleet to take out the championship.
We all foresee some some great Olympic battles coming in August.
