The SB20 World Championships finished up in Hyeres over the weekend. It was a 90 strong fleet and by the final race the championship was still up for grabs for multiple crews. Poor conditions and black flags disrupted the start, but on the third reset the crews got cleanly away and a tense battle for the final flag began. Zhik’s Rodion Luka and his crew were one of the teams in the running to take home the prize. They had put in solid placements and three race wins throughout the regatta. The 2012 European champions stayed close to the front, but on the race to the finish, the result was still open. The winner only became clear after some quick calculations from the press boat. Craig Burlton (GBR) with his crew of Adam Heeley and Stephen ‘AB’ White had taken home the championship by a mere 3 points ahead of Luka.
It was a thrilling Championship and a big congratulations goes to Rodion and the team on the second place!
