The Rainbow Sandals Gerry Lopez Battle of the Paddle is an ocean festival that includes races and demonstrations for all ages and skill levels. From beginners, to family and company relay teams, to high intensity elite competition, Battle of the Paddle is a showcase for the world’s fastest growing water sport.

This year we had three Zhik SUP Riders in the elite races, Kelly Margetts & Stuart Murray for the men’s and Terrene Black in the women’s. The Elite race featured the world’s best Sup racers battling it out in a multiple lap course that includes paddling through the surf and beaching equipment for a short, flagged sand run.

The Sunny California’s event held at Doheny State beach brought out over 1,000 competitors.
The elite competition was fiercely fought with only seconds between some of the top placing’s.
Kelly put in a great 6^th place with only seconds away from a 3^rd. And Terrene in the women’s division placed even better with an overall 4^th place.
While Stuart Murray managed to take home 1st Place in the Sub 12ft Open Race and 2nd Place in the Unlimited Distance Race!
