The Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma, Spain is the third heat of the inaugural ISAF Sailing World Cup. Each heat is a training event towards medal glory, Weymouth, 2012. This regatta marks the beginning of the next quadrennium in the European circuit for many of the Zhik Team.

The Zhik Team continues with the inertia built up from the last quadrennium campaign, and is proud to have world leading 49er sailors like the Sibello Brothers (ITA), Pietro and Gianfranco, continue with Zhik. They start their season in Europe with an emphatic win at this event.

Unless the Olympic class has changed, or the sailor does not continue their campaign, all sailors previously on the Zhik Team from the last quadrennium continue into the next. "This is a huge endorsement of our competitive advantages", said Brian Conolly, founder and managing director of Zhik, "To see the worlds best sailors continue with Zhik, and also to see new Olympic champions join."

There are some changes in the Zhik Team as the transition year sees some changes in the Olympic classes, such as with Yngling teams. We also see some great additions to the team, including Anna Tunnicliffe (USA), Olympic Gold Medallist and number 1 world ranked Laser Radial, Ingrid Petitjean / Nadege Douroux (FRA) top ranked 470 Women sailors and Erin Maxwell and Isabell Kinsolving (USA), current 470 Women World Champions.

Other Zhik Team sailors, like Michael Bullot (NZL) in the Laser, continues his challenge for Olympic glory, with an excellent Silver medal backing up his Silver in Melbourne and ranking him third overall in the Cup at present.

More stories about the new look Zhik Team will follow as the transistion into the new campaign becomes public.
