When Brett Beyer gets a chance, he will spot a little laser training in between his grueling professional laser coach duties. Then, he always makes sure his pet event, the Laser Masters Worlds is in his calendar.

Brett Beyer keeps on winning.

He has won the Laser Worlds 35-45 age division so many times it is quite ridiculous. We all know the competition of this fleet, with Olympic masters a-plenty. "I have often wondered why Brett has not done an Olympic campaign himself", said Brian Conolly, founder of Zhik, "I honestly think he would medal in something, and perhaps someone should sponsor him into a Star now that I think of it..."

Out of a possible 10 events in this age bracket, Brett has been on the podium all ten times. Seven times as champion, twice second and once third. That has to be a world first in any class. He also wins the championship this year as possibly trhe oldest in his division.

Without spending most of the day trolling the last 10 years Masters Worlds results, we believe:
    * First person to podium all 10 times in any age division
    * First person to win 7 times within age division
    * First person to win 5 Worlds consecutively in any age division.

"This year was probably the most satisfying win. Being my last year in Apprentice division is very difficult as there are now many current and ex-Olympic sailors entering the Worlds who are still fit and fast.", said Brett Beyer, "It came down to the last day of racing too in terrific wind and waves. It was one of the best days sailing of my life. This win has marked the conclusion of my Apprentice Worlds competition and to win 7 times from 10 attempts is still quite surprising to me."

Brett is also the first to join the Zhik Team, and has been fundamental in helping Zhik design many innovations.

Cheers to Brett.
