Olivia is the skipper of Australia’s Women’s Match Racing crew and the youngest Australian sailor at London 2012, having turned 20 during the Games. Olivia began her campaign to London 2012 as a crew, having success at the 2010 Sail for Gold Regatta in Weymouth. In 2011 Olivia turned her focus to skippering, teaming up with Nina Curtis and Lucinda Whitty. The young crew has hit their stride this year, finishing on the podium at three World Cup events, including a breakthrough win in Weymouth. Olivia completed her HSC in 2011 via distance education, juggling study and sailing.

Olivia and crew had a great run at London 2012, winning all 11 round robin races to top the class heading into the finals. They defeated the Netherlands and Finland in the semi-finals, coming up against Spain in the race for gold. In a tight affair the Spanish eventually won gold, 3-2. The Australian trio never gave up in heavy conditions, fighting back twice to push the final all the way to five races.

Nina had her first taste of World Championship success in 2007, winning silver at the Women’s Match Racing World Championship. Two years later she was a part of the crew that won gold at the same event in Sweden, and then went on to win gold, alongside current teammate Olivia Price, at the Sail for Gold Regatta in 2010. The pair, with Lucinda Whitty, teamed up in 2011 to campaign for London 2012. They had three podium finishes in the 2012 ISAF Sailing World Cup, including victory at the Sail for Gold Regatta in Weymouth.
