Another Huge turnout for the 2012 Sir Peter Blake Regatta
The Sir Peter Blake Regatta is now the biggest Centreboard Regatta in New Zealand and it lived up to its name this year with 450 competitors over 17 classes! The Zhik supported regatta enjoyed great conditions over the two days of competition, hosted by Torbay Sailing Club.
Johannes Polgar
The German duo of Johannes Polgar and Markus Koy are making waves. The star team have powered their way to win the 2010 European championship and two German championships. They will feature prominently during the 2012 games.
Olivier Backes & Matthieu Vandame
Olivier Backes & Arnaud Jarlegan, took out the 2010 F18 World Championships in this hot International multihull class. Racing with the sail innovation team, the French duo relinquished their title in 2011. Olivier then teamed up with Matthieu Vandame to claim the world championship again in 2012.
Scott Babbage
Scott finished 2nd to Nathan Outeridge at the 2011 Zhik Moth World Championship on Lake Macquarie. Scott also sails Sheet hand on the Colour 7 18ft Skiff and now has an 18ft Skiff World Title to his name. Previously, Scott won a 29er World Championship as well finishing 2nd at the 2007 & 2012 Moth Worlds.
Simon Payne
Simon Payne is 2010 and 2006 Moth World Champion, 4 times European Champion, and is current British National Champion. He recently showed brilliant form at the 2010 World Championships, racing the Mach 2 to its second World championship developed by Andrew McDougall. When not sailing, Simon heads up Zhik UK, based on the south coast of England.
