John Casey & Sarah Newberry
John has been racing multihulls most of his life. Although a master long distance racer, he’s captured multiple North American and US Multihull Championships over the past 10 years in several different catamaran classes. In 2012 John started racing with fellow Floridian Sarah Newberry and immediately won the F16 National Championship then the 2013 Miami Sailing World Cup in the Nacra 17 Olympic class, which put them as the ISAF #1 world ranked team.
Támara Echegoyen & Berta Betanzos
The Spanish duo of Támara Echegoyen and Berta Betanzos who teamed up in the 49FX for Río 2016 joined the Zhik Team in 2013. Támara Echegoyen sailed to success in London 2012 winning the Gold Medal in Match Racing while Berta Betanzos sailed in the 470 Class where she won a World and European title in 2011 while also competing in the London Games in 2012. They are really excited about the new 49FX class and they are putting in a lot of work hard to make sure Río 2016 is their year!
